A police officer attached to Counter Terrorism Tactical Unit Naguru has been arrested for shooting to death his wife, also a police officer stationed in Jinja.
The suspect, AIP Egwang David allegedly shot his wife, Cpl Jennifer Atino attached to the Very Important Person Protection Unit of Police (VIPPU) using a pistol.
According to Patrick Onyango, the police spokesperson Kampala metropolitan area, the motive of the shooting is suspected to be domestic violence using a pistol.
Ogwang murdered his wife on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023 around 5:15PM.
He added that the suspect is currently detained at Jinja Road Police Division awaiting interrogation.
