Long serving Mbale School for the Deaf head teacher, Sister Rose Nelima has finally been transferred.
The transfer is a contained in the Ministry of education and sports letters of transfer dated 25th/08/2023.
Sister Rose Nelima has been replaced by Mr. Dismas Wandulu who was welcomed by the Busoba local leaders and community members yesterday, 13th September, 2023.
Mbale School for the deaf is a special needs government school for the deaf that was established in Eastern Uganda, in Busoba sub county Mbale district by the government of Uganda to cater for the special needs of deaf students and other students with disabilities.
This has brought to an end, endless fights amongst stakeholders with many fighting for the retention of Sister Nelima.
It was noted that even chairman Lc3 of Busoba Sub County wrote a petition letter to the Speaker of Parliament to halt the transfer but later wrote and withdrew the letter after digesting the motives and interests that were behind blocking the transfer Sister Nelima.
In the meeting that was organized by LC3 of Busoba Sub County on Wednesday, many community members and LC1s who were present said they are ready to work with the head teacher.
Mrs. Nabalayo Milly, one of the board members at Mbale school for the deaf and chairman board, applauded the LC3 of Busoba sub county for organising the community general meeting.
She says she honours the transfer that was made by the ministry of education and sports and requested the general public to stop being misled by people who have different interests in the school.
A one Mwiri Obed chairman LC3 of Busoba sub county applauded all people who attended the meeting and appealed to the general public to be calm and welcome the new Head teacher that has been transferred to Mbale School for the deaf by the ministry of education and sports.
