One person has been confirmed dead after being knocked by a speeding bajaj boda boda motorcycle in Tororo today, 14th September 2023.
The deceased is Samuel Aggrey Olwenyi aged 4 years.
According to eye witnesses, the incident happened at Pochoiu village along Papolu road, Mailo Eight in Tororo district.
It is reported that Bajaji boda boda motorcycle number UEM 178Z red in color being ridden by Okuni Ponciano, a boda boda rider operating within Tororo municipality knocked the minor who died on the spot due to over bleeding.
Moses Mugwe, the police spokesperson of Bukedi South region confirmed the incident saying the minor was knocked while crossing the road.
He adds that the cause of the accident was over speeding adding that the body has been taken to Tororo hospital mortuary for postmortem and the motorcycle has been impounded and taken to Tororo police station pending investigations.
