BREAKING! All Government Officials to Travel with Uganda Airlines Only

Government has banned government officials from travelling using other Airlines ordering that they must only use Uganda Airlines.

This decision was taken on Monday, 25^th September, 2023 during the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Addressing the Media today, 27^th September 2023, the Minister for ICT, Chris Baryomunsi said government officials must travel with Uganda Airlines when it is flying in the area where they are going.

Baryomunsi says, the exception can only be allowed if an official is traveling to a destination which Uganda Airlines does not have as one of its routes.

The government warns all accounting officers in government, the ministries, and all agencies, and departments of government that they should comply with this directive of Cabinet.

In addition, starting this financial year, government has made a provision in the budget to give every district UGX 1 billion over and above the provision of the Uganda Road Fund to assist the districts in maintaining their murram roads.

 This money is strictly for maintenance of existing murram roads and not for opening new ones
