President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned that elements of Allied Democratic Forces rebels are re-entering Uganda after Uganda Peoples Defence Forces making their life in DRC untenable.
President Museveni revealed this on 15th October, 2023 saying the ADF rebels suffered many casualties during a bomb attack carried out by UPDF on 14th October on four different points.
“This is to inform you that yesterday 14th October 2023, our fighter bombers paid a visit to the ADF terrorists at four different points. These points were at 72 kms, 120 kms, 69 kms and 130 kms from the border of Bundibugyo-Semiliki side. It seems quite a number of terrorists were killed,” Museveni says.
The President warns that as a result the ADF have found DRC too hot for them and have been forced to run back to Uganda and are trying to carry out random terrorist acts.
He also attributes the attack on a truck that was carrying onions to a market in Congo near Bwera in Kasese on Friday to the ADF who have run back to Uganda. In that attack, the truck was burnt and one occupant killed.
The Presidential warning alerts all Ugandans to look out for strange faces including relatives who have been away for a long time and report them to the nearest security agency.
