The Police has spoken out on a fire that gutted a Primary Four Dormitory early today, 25th October 2023.
According to Luke Owoyesigyiere, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the fire that was reported to authorities at 8:00am is believed to have started from the P.4 dormitory.
He says, police responded swiftly and managed to put off the fire before it could spread further.
The police also reports no injuries or loss of life as all pupils had safely evacuated the dormitory before the fire ignited.
However, on a sad note, all items within the dormitory were lost in the blaze. The cause of the fire remains unknown with police promising to get to the bottom of the issue.
St. Theresa Kisubi Girls’ Primary School is a catholic founded school for both day and boarding pupils. It is located in Wakiso District, 14 miles from Kampala, and 8km from Entebbe International Airport.
