A 46 year old man in Namisindwa district is currently fighting for his life at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital after surviving an acid attack on Saturday night at about 9:00PM, 28th October 2023.
The victim is known as Fred Katambi, 46 years old and resident of Sikimbiro village, Masaaka parish, Namabya Sub County in Namisindwa.
According to James Brazil Nakhaima, the LC3 chairperson of Namabya Sub County, Katambi survived narrowly from dying but got life threatening injuries.
He adds that based on preliminary investigations, Katambi had disagreements with his two brothers only known as Fred and Welikhe after their mother decided to pass on a house to Katambi’s son. The mother owned the house after the death of her husband, the father of the three brothers.
He says Fred and Welikhe became jealous of Katambi, the victim after his child was given a house by their mother leaving other grandchildren.
The LC3 Chairman says that they are currently investigating the real cause and people who were behind this crime so that they can be arrested and face the law.
The victim is currently getting treatment at Mbale regional referral hospital in critical condition after the acid burnt his body parts like face, chest, stomach and private parts.
