Police in Namisindwa district have arrested a 37 year old man for illegally possessing live government ammunition.
The suspect, Evans Bwayo, a resident of Kufu village, Masaaka Parish, Namabya Sub County in Namisindwa district was arrested on Monday 30th October 2023.
According to James Brazil Nakhayima, the LCIII chairperson of Namabya Sub County, Bwayo used to work with Alfa Guard Security Company in Kampala.
He adds that Bwayo stopped working with the security company in 2016 and has been at home since then.
Nakhayima says that Bwayo was seen with one bullet which prompted locals to inform police who swung in action and arrested him.
Bwayo is currently being detained at Magale Police Post.
However, Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson when contacted to give a comment, admitted having an idea on the story but told our reporter to wait for him to get official information from security leaders of Namisindwa but he never got back to us by press time.
