UCC Donates Phones to Bulambuli Residents

Government through Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has donated free Tablets (Handset phones) to residents of Administration Cell, Bulambuli Town Council in Bulambuli district.

 

The Tabs that were given out on Thursday 2nd November, 2023 are meant to improve connectivity, digital usage to develop in agriculture, business and education using IT innovation and creativity.

 

The gadgets were handed over at Bulambuli district headquarters.

 

One of the residents indentified as Akimu Womazembe who received the tab, applauded the government and UCC that supplied the tabs for the act.

 

He said he will use the gadget for communicating with his children and other family members.

 

“I am glad to have this gadget because I had no money to buy it. I will use it for communication and my children for studying,” said Womazembe.

 

James Wanyoto, another beneficiary said that the tab will help his grandchildren to do research in their studies.

 

Amir Kamba, the deputy RDC Bulambuli district appealed to the beneficiaries to use the gadgets to market their products online.

 

The tabs were accompanied by a solar system which will be used to charge them.

 

Meanwhile, Allan Tugume from UCC said that they have oriented the beneficiaries on how to use them effectively.

 

“This is a pilot project from the government of Uganda which is yet to be rolled throughout the country,’ said Tugume.

 

He added that they want everyone connected and able to know current affairs.
