A Kampala City Property Dealer has been arraigned before the Kira Chief Magistrates Court on Charges of Malicious Damage to Property and remanded to Luzira Prison.
Semakula Yusuf was on the afternoon of today, 8th November, 2023 taken to court by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit for allegedly destroying property of the 99 year old Namazzi Helena.
It is alleged that the accused together with others still at large between 14th and 28th December 2022, at Bulooli Zone, Namugongo, Kira Division Wakiso District, maliciously destroyed property belonging to Namazzi.
He has been remanded until 14/11/2023.
Ssemakula had earlier on been on remand over the same case but was granted bail on 24th January, 2023 by Kira Chief Magistrate, Roseline Nsenge.
At that time, the Resident State Attorney, Ketty Basuta informed court that investigations into the matter were still ongoing. The re-appearance of the 52 year old Ssemakula is an indication that investigations have been concluded and the State is ready to proceed with prosecution.
