In what UNEB is now describing as ‘PLE Book of Records 2023’, a Primary Seven Candidate in Adukut Primary School, Kadungulu Sub County, Kasilo County, Serere district delivered during Examination and managed to continue with the paper thereafter.
According to Jennifer Musamba Kalule, the UNEB PRO, the candidate (whose names are withheld) went into labour just after writing her name on the afternoon paper.
“It is said that after writing her name on the Question/ Answer booklet, she started experiencing labour pains,” Kalule says.
She was then isolated, after which, she shortly delivered a bouncing baby boy.
The young lady pleasantly surprised everyone when, against all odds, she bravely opted to continue writing her afternoon SST paper. She was later admitted at Kadungulu Health Centre III for further management. She is expected to turn up for the today’s final papers”.
Still from the same district, another brave candidate from Labwor Sub County, Pingire County sat for her examinations six days after giving birth through Caesarean section. She presented herself to the examination center with a child caretaker.
Both candidates were accorded extra 45 minutes usually given to the Special Needs Candidates.
