The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released an official statement on misleading propaganda that circulated on social media platforms indicating that mistakes had been done during the setting of one of all the UCE papers of physics.
The perpetrators of the inaccurate statement went ahead to indicate that UNEB is considering recalling the candidates to sit for a supplementary paper.
Addressing the Media today, 27th November, 2023, UNEB’s PRO, Jeniffer Kalule Musamba, reiterated the Board’s earlier position that there was no error in any of the UNEB Examination papers, at any of the levels.
“All the test items for the Board’s examination papers passed through a rigorous validity test and as such NO SUCH ERROR was experienced,” Musamba says.
Musamba says the Board is working with the police to investigate and establish the source of the misleading information, and once found, the culprits will be brought to book.
She also revealed that the process of marking both the UCE and PLE scripts has commenced in their coordination centers saying they expect to release PLE Results on the third week of January, 2024.
She says the PLE and UCE scripts have been sorted for transfer to various marking centers.
“We have a total of 33 marking centers of which 13 will be used for marking PLE scripts, while 20 are for marking UCE and UACE examinations,” she says adding that 6000 examiners have been invited for marking PLE, while 8,000 have been contracted to mark UCE.
