Masaba cultural institutions in partnership with the United Kingdom have agreed to construct a modern museum at Mutoto cultural site and plant two million tree seedlings in the Bugisu region.
This was revealed by Mike Mudoma, the Umukuka III while speaking on Friday, 15th December, 2023 to the media at the cultural institution offices located at Malukhu in Mbale City.
The Umukuka was addressing the media about the two weeks visit he had in UK with other leaders like his prime minister, Charles Walimbwa Peke, John Baptist Nambeshe, the opposition chief whip also doubling as Member of Parliament representing Manjiya County in Bududa district among other legislators from Bugisu region.
According to Mudoma, they have agreed with a group of people from Wales who are coming in February and March, 2024 to inspect the Mutoto cultural site where they are going to construct a museum.
He adds that if this museum is built, it will promote tourism and jobs to young people in Bugisu adding the Institution is going to plant two million trees in disaster prone areas like Bududa, Namisindwa, Sironko and Bulambuli district.
Stephen Masiga, public relations officer at Masaba cultural institution has urged the Bamasaba to embrace the development and support the cultural institution so that such development can be promoted in Bugisu region.
