The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has sworn in Deputy Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Semambo as acting Mufti replacing Sheikh Shabban Ramadan Mubajje.
This follows a vote by the UMSC General Assembly that forced Sheikh Mubajje to step aside to pave way for investigations into the alleged sale of Ssembabule land.
Amidst chants of Allah Akbar, Sheikh Semambo was escorted into UMSC headquarter offices by enthusiastic Muslims in Gadaffi Mosque at Old Kampala.
Meanwhile the National Deputy Chairman Gule Issa, UMSC has also been sworn in as the new National Chairman UMSC replacing Dr. Lubega Muhammed who has been suspended alongside Sheikh Mubajje.
