Police is hunting for a Namisindwa Taxi Driver who over the weekend was seen heading to Namisindwa from Mbale City with excess passengers loaded atop the vehicle.
The Taxi registration number UBK 932T was seen along Mbale- Bududa Lwakhakha road from Mbale City going to Lwakhakha with excess passengers sitting on top of the vehicle.
Moses Mutabingwa, the Elgon region OC traffic in his statement issued on Monday, 18th December, 2023, condemned the action saying after seeing the photo trending on different media forums, police is now investigating to identify the driver and be arrested.
He says that it’s true many people are flocking into villages from towns but it doesn’t mean that police can allow overloading.
Mutabingwa urged drivers to abide by the road rules and regulations such that they don’t experience road accidents during this festive season.
