A 47 year old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 44 year lover and then dumping her body in a water stream.
Nathan Nagumba, a resident of Siyatsa village, Bunamitsa Parish, Buwatuwa Sub County in Namisindwa district was arrested today, 2nd January, 2024.
According to Sam Kundu, the LCIII chairperson of Buwatuwa Sub County, the deceased known as Agnes Nandala was killed on the night of 1st January by the suspect.
He says the two who have been lovers for three years developed a misunderstanding in the early hours of Monday night which he suspects could have led to the murder.
Nagumba is alleged to have dumped the body at Nabitokholo water stream located at Butiru village, Butiru parish, Buwatuwa Sub County in Namisindwa district.
Julie Namara, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Namisindwa has confirmed the incident saying the body has been taken to Mbale regional referral hospital for post-mortem.
She adds that Nagumba has been detained at Namisindwa Central Police Station waiting to appear in courts of law.
