Manafwa Residents Thrilled with Opening of Community Market

The residents in the sub counties of Nalondo, Khabutoola, Butta, Nangalwe are excited after a community market was commissioned in the area.

 

The market was named Wandekeya which is found in Wandekeya Trading centere in Nalondo Sub County.

 

Wandekeya Community Market was commissioned by the LCV Chairman, Manafwa District, Kikayi Hosea Kimono on Monday, 8th January, 2024.

 

Kikayi appreciated the residents for a good initiative since most people in the area are farmers who will now have a nearby market to sell their goods and buy items for both farming and domestic use. He also urged residents to embrace unity and peace which will push them to the Civilisation and development of the area

 

On Monday, the market got overwhelmed with various commodities like food stuffs, Animals, Utensils, Clothes, and Electronics among other items.

 

Vincent Wabikomba, the Chairperson organising Committee of the market says that the market has started with great progress where many people participated in selling and buying of several items.

 

He adds that they came up with the idea of establishing the market in order to help farmers and businessmen to sell and buy their commodities which will eventually contribute to the growth and development of their areas.

 

The Market will be operating every Monday from 6:00AM up to 6:00PM.

 

Anthony Khisa, Aidah Nekesa, Robert Moses Wabuke, Ivan Mutete among other residents appreciated the good initiative since they have been moving long distances to access the market of their products and items for domestic use.

 

They believe the market will change the lives of many people by involving in the market businesses than wasting their time in gambling and Crime.
