The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus is due to interface with its Party Chairman and President of Uganda to seal fate of about 70 Government Agencies, Commissions and Authorities up for rationalization.
Cabinet on 22nd February, 2021 and under Minute Extract 43 (CT 2021); took a decision to merge, mainstream and rationalize Government Agencies, Commissions and Authorities; and rationalize public expenditure, to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery.
In line with this decision, NRM Parliamentary Caucus has been invited to meet with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday 2nd February, 2024 at State House Entebbe.
This is revealed in a communication by the NRM Party Chief Whip, Hamson Obua to all NRM Party MPs dated 31st January, 2024.
Obua says the purpose of the meeting is to Rationalization of Government Agencies and Public Expenditure. However, only MPs who would have taken a Covid-19 test will be allowed to attend.
The adopted policy for the Rationalisation of Government Agencies and Public Expenditure (RAPEX) has at least 25 big and small agencies, along with several political councils lined up for the chopping block.
