BREAKING! Assailants Butcher Husband, Wife in Kibuku District

A couple has been butchered to death by unknown assailants who used an axe and knives on the night of 2nd February, 2024 at Bulalaka village, Saala Parish, Tirinyi Sub County in Kibuku district.

 

The police has identified the deceased as Namwoyo Twaha, aged about 38 years and his wife, Katooko Nasim, aged 27 years.

 

According to the Bukedi North Police Spokesperson, SP Samuel Semewo, the incident is estimated to have occurred around or before 10:00PM last night.

 

Semewo says the bodies were discovered lying in pools of blood by Namba Charles, district councilor Tirinyi sub county and resident of Buguna village, Saala parish who reported the incident to police.

 

Semewo adds that the dead bodies of Namwoyo and wife were found lying dead in their compound at 10:00PM with their bodies having multiple deep cuts all over.

 

A case file of murder has been opened at Tirinyi Police Station under CRB 010/2024, meanwhile, the scene of crime was visited by Kibuku District C.I.D Officer, Kibuku with a team of detectives.

 

An axe and two knives were recovered at the scene of crime while the bodies have been taken to Mbale City Mortuary for a postmortem by the police surgeon.

 

Police says, no arrests have yet been made with inquiries still at hand.
