A man of Kenyan nationality has crossed the Busia border after allegedly hacking his lover to death on the night of Thursday, 8th February, 2024.
The suspect identified by police as Robert Kanisho allegedly killed the deceased, Omoit Beatrice aged 48 years at Mangen Trading Center, Omiriai village, Angolol Parish, Kalait Sub County in Tororo district.

TATEMENT ON MURDER VIDE CRB 009/2024
It’s alleged that it was on 09/02/2024 at around 0630/c at Mangen Trading Centre, Omiriai Village, Kalait Sub-county Tororo District one AMOIT Beatrace alias Ijuwa was found lying dead in a pool of blood behind her house with three deep open head injuries and the residents informed the area L.c 1 Chairman who reported the matter to Police.
However, the suspect is believed to have fled to Kenya after commission of the Crime, and is currently at large and efforts are on to have him apprehended to help in Investigations.
The Scene of crime was visited and documented by SOCO and Homicide detectives, Commanded by the District CID Officer Tororo.
The body of the deceased was conveyed to Tororo General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Preliminary findings reveal that the deceased has been having mis-understandings with her man friend known as Kanisho Robert from Kabwin Village Kururuma Sub Location in Kenya, but yesterday, he threatened to kill the deceased and threat reported to Lc 1 chairman at night who promised to handle it this morning, only for the residents to wake up to find the deceased murdered.
