Link Bus Company has spoken out on widely shared claims that one of their drivers died on the steering wheel on Thursday, 8th February on his way to Kasese.
Speaking to the media this morning, Link Bus Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tom Best Aliinde, says the claim of a driver dying on the steering wheel is untrue.
He explains that the driver captured in the viral photo felt unwell and chose to park on the roadside before another driver took over.
According to Aliinde, the driver in question only known as Neslson started his duties well from Kampala but a few Kilometers to Kyegegwa town, he felt unwell and he communicated to the nearest office, Fort Portal.
While waiting for a replacement driver, Nelson chose to park the Bus by the roadside at Lwera since he continued feeling sick.
Charles Kyaligonza, another driver standby driver was sent from Fort Portal and he relieved him and drove the passengers to Kasese.
