The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party Deputy Vice Chairperson Eastern Region has quit NUP and joined the ruling National Resistance Movement Party (NRM).
Stephen Ekoom officially joined NRM on Thursday, 15th February, 2024 in the presence of the Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nakambirwa who represented Speaker Anita Among during the commissioning of the rural electrification program held at Apopong in Kolir Sub County
According to Ekoom, the NUP party is a fruitless party without development.
“I have today declared by myself to leave NUP party and joine NRM”, said Ekoom.
In 2021 elections, Mr. Ekoom contested for Member of Parliament for Bukedea County but he was over challenged by Hon John Bosco Ikojo
Nakambirwa welcomed Ekoom to the NRM party saying NRM is determined to develop the country.
“I am happy you have taken the decision early as NRM, we welcome you,” said Hon Nakambirwa.
