A 21 year old resident of Salama Road, Kabowa in Kampala City has been arrested with about 27 stolen Number Plates.
Muwanguzi Isaac was arrested on Monday 26th February, 2024 at Kabowa following intensive surveillance and tracking efforts
According to Luke Owoyesigyiere, Assistant Superintendent of Police, the Deputy Police Spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan, investigations have revealed that Isaac primarily operates in the areas of Kabowa, Makindye, and Salama, targeting residential properties to steal number plates and occasionally other vehicle parts.
Muwanguzi would leave his contact information behind, prompting victims to contact him for the return of their stolen number plates.
“The Kabowa Police Department urges members of the public who may have lost their number plates to verify with the station,” Owoyesigyiere says.
He says that Muwanguzi will be presented before the courts of law pending the completion of investigations adding that police are diligently working to apprehend any accomplices associated with Isaac’s criminal activities.
