Residents of Cissye Cell, Dokho Ward, Industrial City Division in Mbale City are still in shock after discovering a body of a boy estimated to be 15 years old dumped in River Namatala.
The boy identified as Samuel Kitutu was discovered on Monday, 26th February, 2024.
According to the area councilor of Dhoko Ward, Kamadi Wandera, it was a resident who had gone to dig near the river Namatala who alerted them after seeing the body of the boy floating on water.
He adds that he took responsibility and reported the matter to the Half London Police Post.
The chairman of LC1 in Cissye Cell, Abedi Komana, Namatala Ward, Mbale Industrial City Division, explains that the deceased was a good boy in the community wondering why he was murdered.
The police spokesperson Elgon region, Taitika Rogers, has confirmed the incident saying police are still investigating to come up with suspects who were behind this murder.
He says that the body has been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem urging parents to always take care of their children.
