Sub County Councilor Remanded Over Theft of Emyooga Funds in Mbarara

A councilor at Rubaya Sub County, in Mbarara district has been sent to prison on remand for alleged theft of Emyooga funds.

 

Twinomujuni Victor who is also the Chairperson Kashari South Youth Leaders SACCO was arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and arraigned before the Mbarara Chief Magistrate on Friday, 1st March, 2024.

 

According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Twinomujuni and others at large stole over Shs10M Emyooga Seed Capital meant for the SACCO.

 

He was remanded until 20/03/2024 when he will reappear in court for mention of his case and bail application.

 

Twinomujuni’s arrest is part of a wider operation in the region where the State House Anti-Corruption Unit seeks to arrest and charge before courts persons found culpable for mismanaging Emyooga and PDM funds.
