The Tororo Sub region Inspectorate of Government has raised queries over lack of substantively appointed Heads of Departments in Namisindwa District Local Government.
Dinah Nabirye heading the IGG Tororo region raised this concern on Monday, 4th March, 2024 in an exclusive interview with this reporter.
Nabirye noted that the District has got only one Substantive Head of Department and that is Community Development Officer (CDO), Andrew Wabweni.
She mentioned challenges like the district underperformance during national ranking in terms of service delivery, lack of competency since some acting staff are under qualified and low salary compared to work one does.
Nabirye urged the district chairperson and chief administrative officer to lobby for more wage money from the ministry of local government such that that they can recruit and fill those gaps.
Jackson Wakwaika, the Namisindwa district LCV chairperson says that they have already submitted their request to the ministry of local government to avail the district with funds and recruit staff.
He says that they are still waiting for government response before running the advert.
