MBALE
Police in Mbale district has recovered a decomposing body of an unidentified man of around 20 to 30 years from water logged bush in Manyonyi lower village in Bungokho sub-county in Mbale district.
The body was first sighted by herdsman who were grazing animals in a bush on Tuesday morning 9/04/2024.
Alex Wasagali, a herdsman says that he saw dogs around a deserted area within the bush and went to check what was there only to the decomposing body lying in prone position.
Chris Mafabi, the chairman LC 3 Bungokho sub- county says that the deceased is unknown to the local community, adding that he could have been killed from another area and his body dumped in the water logged bush.
The families residing within this area are well known, raising suspicion that this lifeless body was dumped here as a cover-up,” he said.
The Mbale district police swung in action and have already commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Police says that they have transferred the body to Mbale city mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
