Six Secondary Schools to represent Bugisu region at the national level in Uganda Secondary schools sports association 2024 have been named.
According to Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira, Member of Parliament representing Budadiri East constituency in Sironko also Chairperson Secondary Schools Sports Association Bugisu Region, the schools are; Nkoma Secondary School, Mbale progressive and Sironko Standard S.S for Boys Football.
Others are; Nkoma secondary school and Sironko high for girls football and then Nabumli high School for both boys and girls Basketball.
Sasaga also says that National games will be held at Masaka for boys then girls at Ndejje secondary school located at Luwero district next month.
While speaking during the handover of trophies to winning teams at Mbale cricket ground located in Mbale city on Monday Charity Apolot, the vice president Uganda Secondary schools sports association urged parents to always encourage their children to get involved in sports.
She adds that in this new curriculum, sports is a subject and government wants students’ talents to be developed.
