A head on collision between a Mitsubishi Fuso and Subaru Forester in Kamengo at Kasuule Ayanguwa swamp along Masaka-Kampala highway has claimed three lives.
According to SP Kananura Michael, the Public Relations Officer Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety, the accident happened at about 11:40pm on the night of 17th April, 2024.
“The crash involved two M/Vs UAL 605 U Mitsubishi Fuso & UBH 247L Subaru Forester,” he says.
He says the Mitsubishi Fuso that was from Kampala heading to Masaka side while at Kasuule Ayanguwa Swamp in Kamengo along Masaka-Kampala highway Collided with the Subaru Forester which was from Masaka to Kampala killing 03 occupants in the Subaru Forester instantly.
Among the deceased was the Subaru Forester driver, meanwhile one other passenger in the Subaru got critically injured and was rushed to Double cure in Mpigi for medical attention.
Bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to Gombe hospital mortuary for postmortem.
