Uganda National Roads Authority has opened the Kampala-Masaka Highway to traffic following completion of remedial works to restore the damaged spot on Kyengera-Budo section.
UNRA made the announcement today, 23rd April, 2024 in a brief statement on X saying, “Remedial work on the restoration of damaged spot at Kyengera—Budo section is now complete. Kampala—Masaka Highway is fully OPEN to traffic.”
The Kampala – Masaka Highway was closed to traffic on Sunday after the Kyengera-Budo road section sunk in on Sunday, 21st April following heavy rains in the area.
Passengers moving to and fro the two cities have been going through difficulties even when using the alternative routes provided for by Police.
