Ambassador Dickson Ogwang Okul (Awitong), the chief/ head of the Pala-Ocol clan and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Lango Cultural Foundation, has rallied his subjects to actively engage in wealth creation.
Awitong Ogwang says this can be achieved through hard work, innovation and financial discipline while taking government’s advice in a bid to create wealth and eradicate poverty at both individual and household levels for a better community of Lango People.

While launching his one-week-long tour of Lango in Kwera Sub County, Dokolo District, on Friday, April 26th, 2024, Awitong Ogwang Okul, in the company of other clan heads and ministers at the Lango Cultural Foundation, including George Opio Rashid, PPS to His Highness, the Won Nyaci Yocam Odur Ebii guided his subjects to embrace all government programs, saying it’s the only way they can enhance household wealth.
The ongoing tour is meant to ensure discipline, hard work, and wealth creation among his subjects and the people of Lango wherever they may be.
Accompanied by his wife, Ranny Ogwang, and other members of his executive, Awitong Ogwang-Okul, donated five million shillings to support the Savings and Credit Cooperative, SACCO, formed by members of his clan.
“The future is bright; you will create wealth for your families. As a family, we are donating Shs5million to support your SACCO. I will always ensure close supervision to ensure success,” said Amb. Ogwang Okul.
He urged his subjects to maintain high morals in society to guarantee social cohesion with other clan members and avoid living recklessly as the only way to protect them from early death which is a betrayal to society and the Nation.
He said people should avoid indisciplined behavior of all kinds, including drugs and alcohol abuse, sexual misconduct that leads to acquiring diseases, including HIV, violence including youth flights, domestic violence, mob justice and all forms of criminal behavior.
“We must believe that we can eradicate poverty through hard work and financial discipline, which is paramount because when you don’t have discipline, you will not progress in life,” said Awitong Ogwang-Okul.
Recently, President Museveni urged cultural religious leaders to mobilize their followers to engage in wealth creation activities using the Parish Development Model (PDM).
Awitong Ogwang-Okul who is also the Head of Chancery, Uganda Embassy in Sudan is a reputable senior Diplomat who has been at the helm of mobilizing people in Lango to engage in massive production and peace building for several years.
