A Police officer has been knocked dead by a speeding truck in Kumi Municipality.
Brazil Otoi aged 56 was knocked by a speeding truck number UBE 576Z along Omatenga road at around 7:00PM on Monday, 6th May, 2024.
According to Cosmas Edatu, the Kumi District Police Commander, Otoi was knocked while going back to his home after duty.
He says they tried to rush him to Atutur health center IV but was pronounced dead on arrival due to over bleeding.
Edatu also says that the truck which knocked the officer is currently impounded and detained at Kumi Central Police Station.
