SOROTI CITY
The National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) engagement is underway in Sun city Soroti city with participants drawn from the 25 districts of North Eastern region.
There are six regions that form the registration authority in Uganda.
The engagement is ahead of the mass enrolment and renewal of National identity cards that begins in 1st June 2024.
The meeting is graced by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Internal Affairs, Gen. Joseph Musanyufu as the chief guest.
Captain Eseza Florence Akol, the Senior Registration Officer in charge of the North Eastern region said the engagement is one of the activities planned by the Authority to point out the key roles that the stakeholders perform in the process and also to sensitize them on issues related to citizenship.
