Suspect thief who has not yet been identified has survived being lynched by locals after he was caught with stolen turkeys.
The incident happened this Saturday morning, 11th May, 2024 at 6:00AM at Mailo 10, Busiu Town Council in Mbale district.
According to Bernard Wefwafwa, an area resident, this suspect is not from their area.
He says that last night, a group of thugs broke into the kitchen of Sunday Situma, their neighbor and took thirty birds but during the ensuing search, they got this suspect with some of the same birds trying to escape.
He adds that angry residents started beating him until police officers from Busiu police post responded to save him.
Getting a comment from Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson was futile after claiming that he has not yet been briefed by OC CID.
By press time, the suspect was at Busiu health center IV getting treatment in a critical condition.
