Dr. Keddi Funds 100 Muslim Pilgrims to Mecca

The Director of Keddi Foundation, Dr. Steven Keddi has funded 100 Muslim pilgrims who left Uganda through Entebbe International Airport to perform Hijja (Pilgrimage) the fifth pillar of Islamic faith.  

 

The 100 pilgrims are part of the 1600 pilgrims who departed Entebbe International Airport from 1st -7th June, 2024 to Mecca the holiest city in Saudi Arabia.  

 

The manager public affairs at Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), Vianney Lugya confirmed that in the last six days a total of 1600 Muslim pilgrims left Uganda through Entebbe International Airport to perform Hijja in Mecca aboard Fly Dubai, Emirates airlines and Uganda airlines.

 

Dr. Steven Keddi, who first had a dinner with the 100 Muslim pilgrims at 2k Restaurant in Bukesa zone in Kampala, said his sponsorship to the pilgrims which included return air tickets, upkeep money plus some hamper gifts is one way of serving humanity.

 

“This is one way of serving humanity. I wish our Muslim brothers and sisters a peaceful journey to Mecca. Let them pray for our country to continue thriving in peace and unity, “Dr. Keddi noted.

The Director Al-Hiiba tour and travel, Sheikh Milaadu Kaluma, confirmed departure of the sponsored 100 Muslim pilgrims to Mecca today on 6th April, 2024 and thanked Dr. Steven Keddi for his generosity towards Muslim fraternity.  He disclosed that the pilgrims left today to Mecca city aboard Uganda Airlines.

 

“Let our pilgrims perform Hijja according to the Islamic teaching.  We have advised them to listen to their Muslim leaders to avoid getting stuck while in Mecca for the holy journey.  Each of the pilgrims has been offered air ticket, a visa, and Muslim attires among other items.  We need to pray for our country to overcome the challenges it faces, “Sheikh appealed to pilgrims.
