A 50 year old peasant Munyole has beaten his 15 year old son to death after failing to raise school fees and requirements.
According the Bukedi South Police Spokesperson, IP Moses Mugwe, David Higenyi and resident of Kanyenya Village in Buwihula Parish, Busaba Sub County killed his 15 year old son on the 7th June, 2024 at about 8:00AM.
Hitundi Gerald, a Pupil of Bugisa Primary School had that fateful morning refused to return to school without school fees and requirements which infuriated his father.
“On the 6/6/2024, the deceased was sent back from school due to lack of school fees and books. When he informed his father he didn’t take any note. So on the 7/6/2024 the boy didn’t go to school. The father forced him to go but he refused to go without requirements, this prompted the father to pull him inside the house and terribly assaulted him using a wooden stick,” says Mugwe.
He says that after beating the boy, he allegedly forced him to go to school which he did but later on returned home, fortunately or unfortunately at around 1600hrs when family members came back from the garden they found the deceased lying inside the house helpless.
“That’s when he was carried to Mulagi Health Centre for treatment where the boy died on their arrival,” adds Mugwe.
A case of murder was reported at Busolwe police station vide CRB 57/2024.
The body of the deceased was initially taken away by relatives from the health facility to their home where Police picked it from and took it to Mable City Mortuary for postmortem.
“The deceased’s father is at large and efforts to have him apprehended, interrogated and prosecuted are on,” says Mugwe adding that the body was eventually handed back to relatives for burial after the Mbale City Mortuary postmortem confirmed murder.
