Traffic police in Budaka district has identified two boys knocked dead earlier today, Wednesday, 12th June, 2024 by a Hit and Run Vehicle.
According to the acting Spokesperson Bukedi North region police, SP Semewo Samuel, the deceased are Jobi Stephen 15 yrs old and a pupil at Kamonkoli mixed p/s and Mweru Kasim 11 yrs old, a pupil at Nyanza II Primary School. Both are residents of Nyanza village, Kamonkoli town council in Budaka district.
It alleged that Jobi was carrying his friend Kasim on a bicycle on Mbale- Tirinyi high Way at around 7:30AM.
“When the two reached around Kamonkoli town opposite Mapple Cottages, a speeding unidentified motor vehicle hit them and the two died on spot,” says Semewo.
An eyewitness says the speeding vehicle was from Tirinyi side heading to Mbale on a terrible speed.
Immediately, police reached at the scene of crash and carried the bodies of the juveniles to Budaka H/C IV for postmortem examination.
The report was registered on TAR 062/2024 as efforts to trace for the motor vehicle are in place and inquiries at hand.
