BUDAKA: Police Dog Smokes Out Two Notorious Cattle Thieves

Police in Budaka district have embarked on a hunt for two notorious cattle thieves after a Police Sniffer dog smoked them out on Wednesday, 12th June, 2024.

 

These two are Sisye Munyori Wedumo and his son, Tifayo Mugweri Yolokamu all residents of Nakibuulu village, Budaka Town Council in Budaka District. The pair that are cattle dealers are currently on the run after being tipped off that they are wanted by police.

 

This follows reports of theft of 3 crossbreed cows belonging to a one, Magama Baruta, a resident of Nakajete village, Macholi ward, Budaka town council Budaka district on Tuesday night.

 

Immediately, police involved canine dog and tracked the two up to their home but they had disappeared after being tipped off that police dog is coming in the area.

 

According to Samuel Simewo, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, the canine led police to the home of  Sisye Munyori Wedumo and his son, Tifayo mugweri Yolokamu.

 

He adds that unfortunately, the two managed to escape before being arrested.

 

He says police had prior intelligence that the two cattle dealers as well as butchermen were suspected cattle thieves but no one had ever reported them.
