The Sironko District Chief Administrative Officer has sacked seven civil servants from different sub counties over corruption and incompetence.

This was revealed to this reporter by the Sironko CAO, Nelson Kirenda in an exclusive interview on Friday, 28th June, 2024 at his office in Sironko.

Kirenda says that out of the seven (7), five are Parish Chiefs from Zesui Sub County whom he says misappropriated the Shs250,000 they were given for PDM Mobilization per village in their respective Parishes.

The money was meant for organizing village meetings, photocopying among other things but they swindled the money after forging signatures of LCIs claiming that they had paid them.

He says that another victim was a Parish Agent of Bukusege town council who was also sacked after abandoning duties and deciding to reside in Kampala for months.

The seventh culprit is the Sironko town council Physical Planner who was sacked for allegedly conning money from locals with false promises of processing for them Land Titles.

Kirenda says that all these staff were interdicted in June, 2024 and that he has instructed police to investigate their matters adding that once found guilty they will be arrested and taken to court.
