A Court Clerk attached to Namayingo Chief Magistrate’s Court has been arrested for allegedly soliciting for a bribe of Shs500,000 from a suspect’s relative.
According to a statement issued by the Inspectorate of Government that effected the arrest, Caroline Ajambo was arrested today 23rd July, 2024 for soliciting Shs500,000 from relatives of a suspect who has been on remand for 9 months to get bail.
She was arrested together with an intern, Arthur Munyororo who allegedly participated in negotiating for the money with the suspect’s relatives. The bribe was meant to facilitate bail for the suspect.
