Hundreds of locals within Entebbe sub-region on September 30, 2024, celebrated September as a holy month of peace.

The celebrations attracted a number of catholic faithful from different countries including Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Democratic Republic of Congo among others.

The event was organized by Entebbe Division “B ” in partnership with Bugonga catholic parish, and involved cleaning up exercise, free medical camp and free legal advice from the Catholic department.

The celebrations began in the morning with a peaceful walk within Entebbe Municipality. Later the Bugonga catholic parish priest Rev.Fr. Gerald Mpanju led a delegation of clergies to Entebbe Leisure Park where they inspected different exhibition stalls for different catholic believers before convening for a holy mass.

Before the holy month, the clergies were involved in a tree planting exercise as a way of promoting environmental conservation which is under threat due to dangerous human activities like deforestation among others.

During the holy mass, catholic believers were told to champion peace in all spheres of life, in addition to protecting the natural environment.

The holy mass gave an opportunity to catholic believers from different countries to showcase their way of worshiping through traditional dance and gospel songs.
