The US Embassy in Uganda has categorically denied Social Media news that her Ambassador William W. Popp, has apologised to the Ugandan government.
The denial was posted on the afternoon of Monday, 7th October, 2024.
“This narrative is completely false. Neither the U.S. Embassy nor Ambassador Popp have received any formal request to apologize from the Ugandan government on any matter, nor has he apologized. All official statements are posted on our platforms,” reads the brief statement.
Earlier, the Social Media was awash with stories of the Ambassador having apologized to the person of the President having been given an ultimatum by the CDF General Muhoozi Kainerugaba on an X Handle Tweet.
General Muhoozi had warned the Ambassador to stop meddling in the internal affairs of Uganda saying he would be deported if he does not apologize in 24 hours.
The post has however, already been pulled down from X by General Muhoozi over unknown reasons.
