District Service Commission Chairperson Rakai District Arrested

The Chairperson Rakai District Service Commission has been arrested and charged to court on allegations of consistently soliciting for bribes from job applicants.

 

Mpuga David was on 7th October, 2024 charged with three counts of Corruption before the Anti-Corruption Court after he solicited and received Shs20 million from a candidate, to secure him a job as an Agricultural Officer Rakai District.

 

The accused was arrested by State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with Police following a public outcry to the RDC Rakai of him consistently asking bribes on each vacancy available.

 

Mpuga was remanded until 14th October, 2024 when he will reappear for mention of his case.
