A section of councilors from Tororo municipality who had gathered to protest the maladministration at the municipality were on Tuesday, 22nd October left in shock after the charged councilors started leaving council chambers where they had gathered spitting fire one after the other.
The councilors started gathering at the municipal council premises at 8:30am with the intentions of closing the town clerk’s office that they accuse of absenteeism and being incompetence.
The councilors also gathered to protest the besieging of council by top technocrats that they say have created a looting cartel and are currently stealing from the municipality with impunity.
The councilors went as far as procuring placards and wrote several words of disappointment with the current top administrators running the municipality that they wanted to use to march in town and show the general public of the pain they are going through.
To the uttermost shock, the councilors started leaving the council chambers one by one until only two councilors were left in the room looking stranded and disappointed.
Zubeda Namukose, the councilor representing the women of Agururu attributed the frustrated protests to witchcraft which she says is rampant at the council premises without providing evidence.
She was quickly supported by the others who kept on joking that it was witchcraft working each time their colleagues marched out of the protest planning room detesting the protest with no clear reasons.
Josephine Aketch, the councilor representing Bison Maguria parish is now calling for prayers at Tororo municipal council to fight the existing perplexing evil spirits at council.
Councilors claimed that Andrew Omuye, a councilor representing Amogoro A parish was the first to be charmed because after taking the petition councilors wrote to the technical officers for signing, he came back instead calling those being accused sweet names like ‘Mama’ contrary to his original position.
Meanwhile no senior council official was available at the station for a comment by press time.
