Police has arrested three Imbalu boys (young men preparing for circumcision) for allegedly assaulting several individuals in Katwaka Cell, Bumagenyi Ward, Industrial Division of Mbale City and robbing them.
Police in Mbale City arrested three suspects: Wamimbi Bosco, Watuwa Bernard, and Wabulo Moses.
According to Police Spokesperson, ACP Rusoke Kituuma’s statement dated today Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the incident took place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at around 15:30PM.
He says the group of IMBALU boys armed with pangas, sticks, and stones injured a man named Wesonga Swaib by striking him on the head with a panga and also robbed other victims of their belongings, including mobile phones and additional items yet to be identified.
Wesonga was promptly taken to Bunampongo Health Centre III for first aid by his relatives.
“Security agencies take this situation seriously as these actions undermine a cultural practice that has been peacefully observed for many years,” says Kituuma.
