The preparations for the third edition of the IUIU FM agricultural show are in high gear as farmers in Bugisu Sub-region are expected to tap knowledge on some of the latest innovations in farming as the Seminar and exhibition returns to Mbale City.

The one day agricultural exhibition will happen on Sunday 1st of December at IUIU football grounds in Mbale City under the theme “Sowing the Seeds of Sustainability.

Yusuf Musisi Mayanja, the chief organizer who also doubles as the station manager of 93.1 IUIU FM says the exhibition offers a platform for farmers to explore agribusiness ideas and share knowledge in farming in a program called “Tumbula Obulime No’bulunzi”.

”Since 2016 we have been having this kind of training for our farmers where we invite them to a seminar in form of a workshop where they sit in a room and they are lectured, but this time we have invited exhibitors too so they can teach farmers on their produce,” says Mayanja.

Over 10 exhibitors and more to come according to Mayanja have confirmed participating in the agricultural exhibition which is at no cost for the exhibitors that have something to showcase.

However, there is a fee of ten thousand shillings for entrance to the farmers coming to attend the lectures in the seminar.

The agricultural show will feature the exhibition of agricultural products such as Rice, Coffee, Poultry, Bananas and Several Plantations.

According to the findings of the Annual Agriculture Survey from UBOS, it reaffirms the Agriculture sector’s key position as the main employer and revenue earner in Uganda’s Economy.
