Bugisu Cultural Institution, Inzu Yamasaba has released the Bulambuli landslide disaster report saying the number of the dead is 150.
While speaking to the media at Inzu Yamasaba head offices located at Malukhu in Mbale city, on Wednesday, 4th December, 2024, Vincent Woboya, the Cultural Minister for Disaster Preparedness, said the report was compiled by his office for the good of Inzu yamasaba and people of Bamasaba.
In the report, the number of dead bodies recovered are 30, people who died from the disaster are 150, people still missing are 120.
He says the injured are 22, while the number of houses which were buried by landslides are 358, number of people who were displaced are 2000 and persons placed in different IDP camps are 1800.
Woboya also states in the report that sub counties which were affected besides Buluganya where over 100 people were killed are Namisinu, Sisiy and Sooti.
He says that the inzu yamasaba is going to present this report to Bamasaba who are at abroad, Red Cross, NGOs, government and for Bamasaba to lend a hand of support in terms of money and relief other items.
