BUGISU
President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, began a three-day tour to assess the performance of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the Bugisu sub-region.
The President commenced his tour that runs from December, 17th to Friday, 20th December, 2024 in Bududa district and proceeded to Manafwa, and concluded with Sironko.
While in Manafwa, Museveni visited John Namukono, a PDM beneficiary and resident of Situma Village A, Makinya Parish, Makenya Sub-County.
Namukono is engaged in livestock farming, raising a cow and several pigs.
He told the President that he has gained a lot from PDM and urged the government to bring more related programs such that household incomes of Ugandans can be boosted.
Impressed by the farmer’s efforts, Museveni gave him UGX 12 million in cash to purchase two additional cows and support other farming needs.
Day two, Wednesday, December 18, 2024 he will visit Bugisu Industrial Hub and have a Leader’s meeting in Bulambuli district.
