Police at Namisindwa district have today Saturday, January 04, 2025 arrested a 56 year old woman known as Jessica Makulo a mother to Bryan Makulo, 18 year old who defiled a 6 year old girl.
The incident happened at Mamwela village, Kabole parish, Bukokho Sub County in Namisindwa district.
It was reported that Makulo defiled the young girl during Christmas Day but his mother has been insisting on negotiating with relatives of the Minor and pay them Shs400,000 not to report the case to police.
Fanise Nekimite,a councilor representing Kabole parish at Bukokho Sub county says that she was tipped off by community members about the matter.
Nakimite says that she informed police who came and arrested Makulo and is currently being detained at Bumbo police post as they search for the son.
John Managara, the LCI chairperson of Mamwela village, Kabole parish, Bukokho Sub County in Namisindwa says that Brian Makulo is currently on the run.
He cautioned people against negotiating with defilers because it’s illegal.
Efforts to get Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson for a comment were futile by press time after he failed to pick our repeated calls.
