Polycarp Nangosha, the parish chief of Namuwenge parish Kikobelo Sub County in Sironko district has been interdicted over allegations of adding ghost names on parish development model list.
In August, 2024, a team of district leaders led by Nelson Kiranda, the Sironko Chief Administrative Officer visited Kikobelo Sub County to get more information after getting complaints from PDM beneficiaries that the Parish chief had added over 100 ghost names on PDM list.
After investigation, the CAO summoned Nangosha who appeared before him to answer questions before interdiction.
While speaking to our reporter today Thursday, 9th January, 2025 at his office, Kiranda confirmed the interdiction saying Nangoshya is soon going to be summoned by the district disciplinary committee to get his defence.
He says that after the defence, the disciplinary committee will recommend to office of the CAO for the next step.
Isaiah Sasaga, the area Member of Parliament representing Budadiri East constituency in Sironko district says that such parish chiefs must be punished seriously such that others can learn from them.
He says that it’s bad for a civil servant to frustrate government programs which can pull the poor out of poverty.
Recently during the Presidential visit to Elgon region, Museveni asked police to arrest any civil servant or leader found frustrating PDM program.
